What is Lent all about?

February 16th, 2013 by terry

Lent is the period of six weeks leading up to Easter,

The most important festival in the Christian calendar.

Lent starts on Ash Wednesday and climaxes during Easter Week

The last week of Lent is called Holy Week.

During the 40 days of Lent, Christians remember the time when Jesus went into the desert to fast and pray before beginning his work for God.

During this time Jesus was tempted several times by Satan, but was able to resist.

During Lent this year we are reading the letter from Paul to the Colossians

Each Sunday we will have a special service looking at one of the chapters from Colossians

If you have ever wondered what Easter is all about, please come and join us on any Sunday in Lent

We celebrate Palm Sunday on 24th March

And Easter Sunday on 31st March
